Bettys & Taylors
The exotic courtyard garden at Bettys & Taylors factory site near Harrogate was completely redesigned in 2019/20 by Matthew Wilson.
The garden features a range of exotic foliage trees and shrubs that thrive in the sheltered space. Huge slabs of Caithness stone act as stepping stones through the garden, some of which have been designed as water tables, through which water gentle babbles, helping to animate the space and provide a gentle foreground sound to offset the noise of the busy factory site.
The garden has been designed not only to look beautiful, but to provide a space for staff and visitors to meet and take breaks.
